Hiking

The Mountains provide a fantastic backdrop for hiking. There are several beautiful lakes in the area or if you wish to stay local there are numerous beautiful walks to suit all levels direct from the Chalet. We can provide you with a local walking guide written by one of our regular summer visitors. The telecabine also runs for limited times in the summer and so it is possible to get a lift to the top of the mountain for lunch and then a more relaxing walk back down to the village or you can walk down the valley through the vineyards to Sion, having several wine tasting en-route and catch the bus back up to Anzere. There are also many beautiful lakes in the area to visit and the Rawyl damn, one of the largest in Europe is a short drive away.

Other activities 

Mountain Biking is another popular activity in the resort during the summer months. It is possible to hire bikes in the village.

There are several options for Horse riding, including a two day ride camping out in the mountains.

There are Tennis courts in the resort which can be hired by the hour.

There is a parapenting school; their office is in the village centre. On a clear day it’s a fabulous way to take in the view but not for the feint hearted!

Day Trips

Anzere is also the perfect base for many fabulous day trips within the Valais area. It only takes 15 minutes to drive down the mountain and be on the motorway. The historic town of Sion has a fascinating castle. The towns of Montreux, Lausanne and Geneva are all an easy drive. 

From June to October the Chocolate Train goes from Montreux to Bex via Greyere for the cheese and the castle and then onto the Nestle Cailler factory with unlimited choloclate tasting! The train has an old British Pullman carriage for some timeless old style glamour or a panoramic coach to make the most of the view. Please see www.mob.ch for details.
